Ivanhoe Junior Football Club

The Ivanhoe Junior Football Club competes in the Yarra Junior Football League. In 2006, the League will comprise 28 Clubs fielding almost 250 teams that play throughout the season on a Sunday with some night games on a Friday evening. There will be a total of 26 competitions in 2006 covering all Age Groups up to Colts (Under 16/17 combined Age). The League also offers a Tackers (Under 9 years) modified rules competition where young players are introduced to Club football in a non competitive environment. The large number of teams in the League allows grading of teams within each age group so that each team, as far as is possible, plays in a grade that is commensurate with the team's ability. Grading games are played in Rounds 1 ­ 4 to determine if the Grade (Section) for all teams should be varied for the remainder of the season. The Grades, up to U14 level, are Gold, Brown, Green and, depending on numbers, Blue. EXTRA SPECIAL RECOGNITION League Director and Past President, Peter Bird, was awarded a Football Victoria Recognition of Service Award at the 2004 Yarra Junior Football League Annual General. The award was in recognition of Peter's excellent contribution to the IvanhoeJFC and to the YJFLeague over a long period of time. We wish to acknowledge Peter's dedication and commitment to our club and the league - without his enthusiasm throughout the years , our club's overall success would not have occurred.
